Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC)

Your Voice. Your Experience. Better Care for All.

At the heart of exceptional healthcare are the patients and families we serve. Our Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC) brings together patients, family members, caregivers, and staff to partner in improving the care experience for everyone.

What Is a Patient & Family Advisory Council?

The Patient & Family Advisory Council is a group of patients and family members who work alongside our care teams and leadership to share perspectives, ideas, and feedback based on real experiences. PFAC members help guide decisions that shape how care is delivered — before, during, and after a patient’s visit.

Why a PFAC Matters

Healthcare is most effective when it is designed with patients and families—not just for them. A PFAC helps us:

  • Improve the patient experience by incorporating real-world insights
  • Enhance communication between patients, families, and care teams
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in safety, access, and quality
  • Ensure services reflect diverse needs and perspectives
  • Build trust and transparency through partnership and collaboration

Your lived experience helps us see what works, what doesn’t, and what could be better.

What Do PFAC Members Do?

PFAC members may be asked to:

  • Share feedback on care experiences and processes
  • Review patient-facing materials, policies, or programs
  • Participate in discussions about quality, safety, and access
  • Provide insight on new initiatives or facility improvements
  • Serve as a voice for patients and families in a supportive, respectful environment
  • Attend quarterly meetings – either virtually or in person.

No medical background is required—just a willingness to share your perspective.

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome individuals who:

  • Are current or former patients, family members, or caregivers
  • Reflect diverse backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints
  • Are interested in improving healthcare for others
  • Can listen respectfully and communicate openly
